Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 12, 2026

The short version: the DeerTally app collects no personal data and has no server to send it to — every hunt log stays on your own device. This website (deertally.com) collects no personal data either; it uses only Cloudflare's cookieless, anonymous Web Analytics to see how many people visit.

The rest of this page explains that in more detail.

1. The DeerTally app

DeerTally is an offline hunting log. It does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email address, and does not connect to a cloud service of ours. Everything you enter — hunt dates, stands, deer counts, hours hunted, and notes — is stored in a local database on the device you installed the app on.

Data may still be handled by your device's operating system in the ordinary course of use — for example, if you use your device's own backup feature (like a phone's built-in cloud backup) or if you export a file from the app and choose to save or share it yourself. Those actions are controlled by you and your device, not by DeerTally.

2. This website

The deertally.com website is an informational site about the app. It does not have user accounts, does not include forms that collect personal information, and does not run advertising.

The only measurement tool used on this site is Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not use cookies or any persistent identifier and does not track you across other websites. It reports aggregated, anonymous metrics only — things like total page views, referring sites, approximate (country-level) location, and browser type. There is no way for us to identify an individual visitor from this data. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. What we don't do

4. Children's privacy

DeerTally is not directed at children and is not designed to collect information from anyone, regardless of age. Since no personal data is collected by the app or this site, none is knowingly collected from children.

5. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional feature that involves data leaving your device — we'll update this page and revise the effective date above before that feature ships.
